Donna Halper

Donna Halper is an American Radio Personality, Professor, and Writer. Donna started in radio in the 1960s, working her way up from her campus radio station to become the Music Director at WMMS in Cleveland. During this stint in 1974, Donna famously became the first DJ to play the music of Rush on American radio, which helped launch their career. Following her time in radio, Donna has worked in academia, teaching at various universities and writing on subjects like media history. She holds a Ph.D. in communication from UMass Amherst, and in 2023 was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
