Guess That Record is a podcast that is hosted by Jackson Reed, with new episodes being posted regularly. Guess That Record has a passion for giving artists an outlet to share themselves and their music in an intimate setting. The podcast features interviews with well-known people in the music business, along with lesser known and unsigned artists. Through this podcast the interviewee gets the chance to be exposed on multiple levels; the fan gets a chance to listen to music they know and love through a new medium along the way getting to hear other music from across the world.

Eugene Foley is the head of Foley Entertainment, which has been creating opportunities for musicians since 1989. Some of the artists Eugene (or Gene for short) has worked with include Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, U2, and Guess That Record’s very own Jackson Reed. Foley Entertainment clients have earned 38 gold and platinum albums, as well as four Grammy Awards.

Jim Vallance

Jim Vallance is a Canadian songwriter. He is best known for his longtime collaboration with Bryan Adams, where his co-writing credits include Cuts Like A Knife, Summer of 69, and Heaven, which reached number one in the US. Jim has also worked with artists like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Glass Tiger, Kiss, and many more.

Hank Shteamer

Hank Shteamer is an American writer who previously served as a senior music editor for Rolling Stone. Besides Rolling Stone, Hank’s writing has also been featured in publications like the New York Times, GQ, Pitchfork, and 33 ⅓. He is also a musician who has performed with bands like STATS.

Mitchell Brady

Mitchell Brady is the lead singer and guitarist for The Static Shift, a band from Calgary, AB. that plays music inspired by classic rock. The Static Shift’s songs have reached the top 10 of the Canada Active Rock Charts, and the band has shared the stage with artists like Kansas and Trooper.

Kelly Hrudey

Kelly Hrudey is a Canadian hockey player who spent 15 years in the NHL as a goalie with the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks. Since retiring from playing, Kelly has worked as a broadcaster. He is currently with Sportsnet where he appears on Hockey Night in Canada and Calgary Flames games.

Hot City Horns

The Hot City Horns are a horn section based out of London, England featuring Paul Burton on Trombone, Mike Davis on Trumpet, and Kenji Fenton on Saxophone. Since 2018, the group has served as the horn section for Paul McCartney, appearing with him in stadiums all over the world on his Freshen Up and Got Back tours. They’ve also performed with artists such as Olly Murs, Jess Glynne, and Emeli Sandé.

Floyd Sneed

Floyd Sneed was a Canadian drummer. Born and raised in Calgary, Floyd would find success as the original drummer for Three Dog Night, playing on the group’s biggest hits such as Joy to the World, Mama Told Me Not to Come, and Shambala. Floyd also performed with with groups such as SS Fools, and Tommy Chong’s band Little Daddy and the Bachelors.

David Paich

David Paich is an American keyboardist best known for his work with Toto. As a founding member of the band, David wrote the group’s biggest songs including Hold the Line, Rosanna, and the number one hit Africa (a song in which David sings the lead vocals as well). David is also a prolific session player, working on albums such as Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, and Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Susan Rogers

Susan Rogers is an American professor, record producer, and engineer. She is best known for serving as the staff engineer for Prince, a role she held from 1983-1987. Susan worked on some of the biggest albums of Prince’s career including Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, and Sign O the Times. She’s also worked with artists like David Byrne, Tevin Campbell, and the Barenaked Ladies. After leaving the music business, she became a professor at the Berklee College of Music, where she still teaches.

Al Staehely

Al Staehely is an American musician and entertainment lawyer. Having been active in the music industry since the late 60s, Al is best known for serving as the lead singer and bassist for the band Spirit from 1971-1973. In his time since leaving Spirit, he’s released three solo albums. He’s performed and recorded with artists such as Chuck Berry and Keith Moon. He’s also provided legal services to artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Nash.

Bill Gibson

Bill Gibson is an American drummer and founding member of Huey Lewis and The News. Bill was behind the kit for the group’s biggest hits like The Power of Love, Heart and Soul, If This Is It, and Jacob’s Ladder. In addition to his drumming, Bill would often provide backing vocals on many of the band’s songs.

Jenna Andrews

Jenna Andrews is a Canadian songwriter and producer. Born and raised in Calgary, Jenna first began to pursue a career as an artist. After signing a record deal with Island Def-Jam, she released a single and an EP before venturing into songwriting. She’s co-written songs for major artists like Drake, Noah Cyrus, Nelly Furtado, Roy Woods, Dixie D’Amelio, and Benee. Her most noteworthy collaboration has been with K-pop sensation BTS, for which she co-wrote their number one hits “Butter” and “Permission To Dance.

Dweezil Zappa

Dweezil Zappa is an American musician. Son of the legendary Frank Zappa, Dweezil followed in his footsteps to become a master guitarist and composer in his own right, releasing six studio albums over the course of his career. To carry on his father’s legacy, Dweezil created the successful group Zappa Plays Zappa, which has introduced a new generation of fans to the music of Frank Zappa. He’s also collaborated with artists such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Don Johnson, and Lisa Loeb.

Chuck Burgi

Chuck Burgi is an American drummer. He’s best known for serving as the drummer for Billy Joel, a role that he’s held since 2006. Chuck has been on stage for many memorable moments with Billy, such as the final concert at Shea Stadium, and Billy’s historic residency at Madison Square Garden. Having been active as a sideman since the late 70s, Chuck has also performed and recorded with artists like Hall & Oates, Meat Loaf, Rainbow, and Blue Öyster Cult.

Gered Mankowitz

Gered Mankowitz is a British photographer. Having been active since the 1960s, Gered has been one of the most successful music photographers of all time. His portfolio includes photos of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Elton John, Kate Bush, Phil Collins, and more. Many of his photos have become iconic album covers including Between the Buttons by The Rolling Stones, Cloud Nine by George Harrison, and Blow Up Your Video by AC/DC.

Andy Summers

Andy Summers is a British musician and photographer. He’s best known as the guitarist for The Police, where his playing can be heard on all their songs including Every Breath You Take, Roxanne, and Message in a Bottle. Besides music, Andy has also had a successful career as a photographer, with his photos being exhibited all over the world. He’s won five Grammy Awards, and in 2003 Andy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police.

Jake Shimabukuro

Jake Shimabukuro is an American musician. Born and raised in Hawaii, Jake has become one of the world’s greatest ukulele players. A highly sought after performer, Jake has had the chance to work with legends such as Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson, Bette Midler, and Kenny Loggins. His newest album “Blues Experience,” is a collaboration with Mick Fleetwood.

Jem Finer

Jem Finer is a British musician and artist. Jem was a founding member of The Pogues, where he played banjo on all of their albums. He also helped write many of their most well known songs including “Sunny Side of the Street,” “Misty Morning, Albert Bridge,” and the all-time Christmas classic “Fairytale of New York.” Jem has been involved in many projects outside of The Pogues, most notably composing “Longplayer,” a piece of music that lasts for 1000 years.
