Jim is a Canadian songwriter who is best known for his longtime collaboration with Bryan Adams, co-writing songs like “Cuts Like a Knife,” “Summer of 69,” “Run To You,” and “Heaven” (which hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100). Jim has also worked with artists like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Glass Tiger, Kiss, Roger Daltrey, and many more. In this episode, Jim talks about his beginnings in music, his career writing with Bryan, and helping David Foster with “Tears Are Not Enough,” the Canadian contribution to African famine relief in 1985.

Hailing from Scotland and having been active in music since the early 70s, Midge is best known for serving as the frontman for the band Ultravox. The group had a string of hit singles on the UK charts in the 80s including “Vienna,” and “Dancing With Tears in My Eyes.” Midge is best known for his collaboration with Bob Geldof, co-writing “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” and helping to organize Live Aid. In the interview Jackson and Midge talk about his brief stint in Thin Lizzy, performing at Live Aid with Ultravox, and his new album “A Man Of Two Worlds.”
