Jim is a Canadian songwriter who is best known for his longtime collaboration with Bryan Adams, co-writing songs like “Cuts Like a Knife,” “Summer of 69,” “Run To You,” and “Heaven” (which hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100). Jim has also worked with artists like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Glass Tiger, Kiss, Roger Daltrey, and many more. In this episode, Jim talks about his beginnings in music, his career writing with Bryan, and helping David Foster with “Tears Are Not Enough,” the Canadian contribution to African famine relief in 1985.
