It’s the first episode of Guess That Record, and Jackson has a chat with guest Eugene Foley. Eugene, or Gene for short, is the head of Foley Entertainment, a company that has been helping musicians gain exposure since 1989. Some of Gene’s clients include Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, U2, and Guess That Record’s very own Jackson Reed. Jackson and Gene talk about Foley Entertainment and how it got started, and having crazy moments like hanging out with the surviving members of Led Zeppelin and Mick Jagger.

Guess That Record is a podcast hosted by Canadian musician Jackson Reed. Each week Jackson will sit down with a special guest for an in-depth interview about their career and experiences. Then, the guest will have to guess which album Jackson pulled from his collection, leading to a discussion about the record. Episode 30 of Guess That Record has Jackson speaking with longtime music executive Pete Ganbarg! Pete was in charge of A&R at Atlantic Record for 16 years, and has worked with artists like Santana, Twenty One Pilots, Run DMC, Donna Summer, and Chaka Khan. He now runs his own company called Pure Tone Music, and is the host of the Rock & Roll High School Podcast where he interviews legendary figures in contemporary music. In the episode, Jackson and Pete talk about how he ended up in A&R, what it’s like to work for a historic label like Atlantic, and the creation of his podcast.
